Labor Law Updates You May Have Overlooked this Summer

The summer months are often the time when companies tend to overlook or simply not notice many important labor law poster updates. Come July many states tend revise their minimum wage poster requirements and the influx of city specific postings have not slowed down in the least. Mandatory State Updates

New posting requirements for Nevada Employers. Effective July 1,2017 Nevada employers are required to provide break time and private location in order for mothers to express milk
for children 12 months and younger. New poster requirement for Nevada employers effective October 1, 2017 prohibits discrimination against employees based on pregnancy, childbirth,
or a related medical condition. Effective January 1, 2018 employees who are direct or indirect victims of domestic violence will be eligible for 160 hours of leave to deal with related issues.

Oregon Minimum Wage Updated to reflect new minimum wage rates, effective July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 and new information regarding Earned Income Tax Credit. July 1, 2017
Arizona Earned Paid Sick Time New poster requirement for the state of Arizona, effective July 1, 2017. July 1, 2017
District of Columbia Minimum Wage Updated with new minimum wage rates effective from July 1, 2017 to July 1, 2020 and revised minimum wage and overtime exemptions. July 1, 2017
Virgin Islands Minimum Wage Updated to reflect new minimum wage rate of $9.50 per hour effective June 1, 2017. June 1, 2017
Michigan Discrimination Updated with redesign of poster, including a new department logo and a requirement for persons with a disability needing accommodations for employment to notify their employers in writing within 182 days. ASAP

Mandatory City Specific Posters
