New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Poster Update

The New Jersey Earned Sick Leave poster has been updated to reflect an important clarification on sick leave policies. Specifically, this change addresses that an employee can use earned sick leave accrued under the law on February 26, 2019 or the 120th calendar day after beginning employment, whichever is later.

In 2018, New Jersey became the 10th state to require paid sick leave. The new law enforces the minimum amount of days offered to employees required by law, though employers can offer more generous benefits if they choose.

The poster also has an updated website address for the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

This is a mandatory change and all businesses in the state of New Jersey must post this updated poster to stay compliant with the law.
