Ohio to Increase Minimum Wage in 2017

OhioOhio has just come out with a new minimum wage that will go into effect January 1, 2017.  The change increases the rate by 0.5 cents per hour, raising the rate for non-tipped employees to $8.15 per hour and $4.08 for tipped workers.  This increase comes as a result of inflation which rose 0.7% during the past 12 months.

The new minimum wage applies to all companies with gross receipts of more than $299,000 per year.  For companies under this earnings threshold, and for minors age 14 and 15, the standard federal minimum wage of $7.25 applies.

Ohio employers will want to notify their employees of this increase.  One easy way to notify employees is through the mandatory labor law poster which has been released.  Plan ahead and get your 2017 Ohio Minimum Wage Poster now by contacting us at
