Alaska employers have several important labor law poster updates to be aware of in 2026. While one update reflects the state’s scheduled minimum wage increase, two additional required workplace posters have also been revised with new employee information and reporting requirements.
Employers with workers in Alaska should ensure they replace outdated postings with the latest versions to remain compliant with state posting requirements.

2026 Alaska’s Labor Law Posters Update
The following workplace posters have been updated and should be displayed beginning July 1, 2026:
Alaska’s Minimum Wage Increases to $14.00 Per Hour
The most significant change for 2026 is Alaska’s annual minimum wage increase.
Effective July 1, 2026, Alaska’s minimum wage increased from $13.00 to $14.00 per hour. As a result, the state’s “Summary of Alaska Wage & Hour Act” poster has been updated to reflect the new wage rate and effective date.
Although the overall content of the poster remains largely unchanged, employers are required to display the current version so employees receive accurate wage information.
Safety & Health Protection on the Job Poster Updated
Alaska has also released a revised “Safety & Health Protection on the Job” poster for 2026.
Unlike the minimum wage update, this revision does not introduce new employer obligations or changes to employee rights. Instead, the poster includes several administrative improvements, including:
- Addition of a QR code directing employees to Alaska Occupational Safety and Health (AKOSH) resources
- Updated formatting for improved readability
- Minor informational revisions while maintaining existing penalty amounts and worker protections
Although the changes are relatively minor, employers should replace older versions with the updated notice to ensure all required postings are current.
Employer’s Notice of Insurance Includes New Reporting Requirement
The 2026 version now clearly states that employees must provide written notice of a work-related injury, illness, or death within 15 days. This clarification helps employees better understand their reporting responsibilities under Alaska’s workers’ compensation laws.
While the rest of the notice remains substantially the same, this reporting requirement is an important informational update that employers should not overlook.
