Chicago employers have new workplace posting requirements to address. On May 27, 2026, updated mandatory workplace posters were released affecting employers within the City of Chicago. Additionally, Cook County’s Minimum Wage increased effective July 1, 2026, requiring covered employers to replace their existing minimum wage postings.

Chicago Mandatory Workplace Posters Update
The Chicago Office of Labor Standards revised the following mandatory workplace notices on May 27, 2026:
Chicago Minimum Wage Poster
The increased minimum wages in Chicago took effect on July 1, 2026, and include:
- Standard employer with 4 or more employees:
- Minimum wage increased to $17.05 per hour
- Overtime minimum wage increased to $25.58 per hour
- Tipped workers with 4 or more employees:
- Minimum wage increased to $12.96 per hour
- Overtime minimum wage increased to $21.49 per hour
- All domestic and youth workers must receive at least the $17.05 minimum wage.
Child Labor Trafficking Notice
The revised notice includes:
- Educational information on recognizing labor trafficking.
- Current reporting resources and contact information.
Gender-Based Violence Notice
The updated notice features:
- Information about identifying gender-based violence.
- Available support services and reporting resources.
Chicago Fair Workweek Poster
The City updated its Fair Workweek Notice on May 27, 2026 to reflect who is covered under Chicago’s Fair Workweek Ordinance.
Employees who work in Chicago, in a covered industry, and earn $64,945.55 per year (salary) or $33.85 per hour (hourly) or less are covered.

Cook County Minimum Wage Increased July 1, 2026
Employers located in Cook County with 4 or more employees should also note a separate mandatory posting update.
Effective July 1, 2026, Cook County increased its minimum wage to:
- $15.40 per hourfor non-tipped employees
- $9.25 per hourfor tipped employees
Covered employers must display the updated Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance poster reflecting these new wage rates.
