Effective July 1st, 2018, employees of retail, hospitality or food services establishments that employ 500 or more employees worldwide must act in good faith when providing estimates to employees of the median number of hours worked at the time of hire. In addition (amongst other changes), this law also requires employers to provide adequate time between shifts and protects employees who identify limitations or changes in work availability from retaliation.
