Federal State Mandatory Updates

  • Victims Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA) (820 ILCS 18040) Under the Illinois Victims Economic Security and Safety Act, employees who have been affected by domestic violence or abuse are entitled to up to 12-weeks of unpaid leave within a 12-month period. Employers must provide information to their employees of their rights and protections governed by the Act.
