The Ohio Department of Commerce has issued a minimum wage update, effective January 1, 2020. The new notice raises the state’s minimum wage from 2019 to $8.70 per hour and $4.35 per hour for tipped employees. It also outlines an individual’s rights to receive minimum wage, individuals who are exempt, and an employer’s responsibilities towards its employees.

This change has been reflected in our Ohio & Federal Labor Law Poster and does require an immediate mandatory update. Ohio employers are required to display the new poster where it is sufficiently accessible and viewable to all employees. Failure to meet compliance and display the updated poster could result in fines.

Order the Ohio Labor Law Poster to immediately include this required update.
