New Jersey Mandatory Updates

The state of New Jersey released three mandatory poster updates for June 2019. All businesses in New Jersey must display these updated posters or could face fines by the state.

The New Jersey Family Leave Act
The new poster update includes that businesses with more than 30 employees must offer certain Family Leave Act benefits. (Previously it was companies with more than 50 employees.) The notice specifies in detail what qualifies as a leave of absence and the rules for when employees need to notify their employer.

This update is effective June 30, 2019.

New Jersey Family Leave Insurance
The New Jersey Family Leave Insurance notice has been updated and completely revised to inform employees of their rights to family leave insurance benefits. The poster details specific benefits for eligible employees and gives information regarding both state insurance plans and private insurance plans, as well as who pays for the insurance. It includes contact information for employees to get more information on the State Family Leave Insurance Plan.

This update is effective July 1, 2019

New Jersey Minimum Wage Poster
The New Jersey Minimum Wage poster is revised with the new minimum wage of $10.00 per hour, effective July 1st, 2019, and includes a table of minimum wage updates through January 2027. The poster also specifies that limousine drivers are eligible for overtime.

This update is effective July 1, 2019.
