The State of Oregon has updated eight workplace posters required for compliance with state labor laws. The revised posters include the new Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries logo, QR codes, revision dates, and important information about several Oregon labor laws.
Minimum Wage Poster Update
- Updated minimum wages: $14.70 per hour standard, $15.95 per hour for the Portland Metro area, and $13.70 per hour for non-urban counties
- New wage rates effective July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025
- New map with clarification on county boundaries
Agricultural Workers Poster Update
- Overtime eligibility set to decrease to 48 hours in a workweek effective January 1, 2025
- New information added regarding the immediate payment of due wages to terminated seasonal farmworkers
- Updated minimum wages: $14.70 per hour standard, $15.95 per hour for the Portland Metro area, and $13.70 per hour for non-urban counties
- New map with clarification on county boundaries
Breaks & Meals and Overtime & Paychecks Poster Update
- Re-Wording to clarify when meal breaks should occur during the workday
- Overtime eligibility set to decrease to 48 hours in a workweek effective January 1, 2025 for agricultural workers
- Daily overtime and special overtime rules added
Captive Audiences Poster Update
- Labor Unions now included in captive audience regulations
- Employers are prohibited from taking adverse action against an employee who declined to attend a captive audience meeting
Equal Pay Poster Update
- Re-wording to reinforce employers must pay employees similarly for doing the same work with specified exceptions
- Language added as a protected class
Family Leave Act Poster Update
- Employers are required to allow employees to use vacation, sick, or other accrued paid leave for unpaid leave under OFLA
- OFLA applies to employers with 25 or more employees
- During a public health emergency, eligibility for OFLA starts at 30 days working 25 or more hours per week
- Generalized updated leave reasons in to three main categories: care for child, bereavement, and pregnancy disability leave.
Sexual Harassment and Domestic Violence Protections Poster Update
- Sexual harassment policy must be made available to employees within the workplace
- Additional examples of sexual harassment
- Bias crime added under domestic violence protections
Sick Time Poster Update
- Employers notify employees how much sick time they’ve earned at least every three months
All businesses within the state of Oregon must display the new posters along with other mandated posting requirements where they are sufficiently accessible and viewable to all employees.
