Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program provides eligible employees with paid time off for qualifying family and medical reasons, including bonding with a new child, caring for an ill family member, or managing a personal health condition. State law requires employers to display PFML information where employees can easily view it.
What’s Changed on the PFML Poster in 2026
The Washington Employment Security Department updated the PFML workplace poster to reflect a new weekly benefit maximum effective January 1, 2026:
- Weekly wage replacement maximum increased from $1542 per week to $1647 per week
Washington PFML Posting Requirements
Washington State law requires employers to display the updated PFML poster in a location that is clearly visible to employees, such as:
- Break rooms
- Employee bulletin boards
- Near time-clock or scheduling areas
Electronic versions are permitted only for employees who primarily work from home or a vehicle, provided they can reliably access them.
There is no state requirement to display the posters in Spanish. However, if Spanish-speaking employees are present at the workplace, it’s strongly encouraged to display the workplace poster in both English and Spanish to improve accessibility and compliance practices.
