Wyoming Child Labor Law Posters

The child labor laws in the state of Wyoming are along the same lines as the child labor laws in the other states. They deal with what jobs a minor can hold, what hours they can work, how many hours they can work, and whether a work permit is required. All of these laws can be found on the Wyoming Child Labor Law Posters. The Wyoming Child Labor Law Posters are required to be posted in an accessible location. This could be a work room, break area, or main office in the business.

In this state, I read that the child labor laws are in place to “protect the health and well-being of minors and their opportunity for education”.

The main area stressed deals with the positions a minor can hold in the workforce. There are many prohibited professions for any minor under the age of 18. Employment dealing with heavy construction equipment, explosives and dangerous chemicals are just a few of the restricted jobs for minors.

Originally, minors under 16 were required to have a work permit when they wanted a job in Wyoming. Now, however, that law has been repealed. All that is needed to obtain a job is proof of age. This can be accomplished by supplying a birth certificate or driver’s license.

The allowable work tables which I looked through state that minors 14 to 15 can work no more than 8 hours in 12, and can work between the hours of 5 AM and 10 PM (midnight when there is no school the next day). Those minors not enrolled in school can work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 5 AM and midnight.

This is just a general idea of the child labor laws for this state. I suggest you look to the Wyoming Child Labor Law Posters for more details. If you are interested, you can also look at the Wyoming Complete Labor Law Poster.
