Ohio Mandatory Update: Minimum Wage

The state of Ohio has announced a mandatory update regarding minimum wage that affects labor law posting requirements for business of all sizes, in all industries.

There is new information touching on several aspects of minimum wage, including the following:

  • The new minimum wage, effective January 1, 2019, will increase to $8.55/hour
  • The new minimum wage for tipped employees, effective January 1, 2019, will increase to $4.30/hour plus tips
  • Employers who earn a gross income of less than $314,000/year are required to pay employees no less than the current federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour

Furthermore, the update also includes the new governor’s name.
