Workers’ Compensation Poster Update
The January 2026 version of the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation notice includes revised language regarding coverage for psychological injuries.
Work-related psychological injuries may qualify for benefits in two situations:
- If the injury is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with at least one month of persistent symptoms and is diagnosed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, or
- If the psychological injury is accompanied by a physical injury
Historically, workers’ compensation focused primarily on physical injuries. However, Minnesota’s revised notice acknowledges that:
- Mental health is a critical component of workplace safety
- Employees need clear information about their rights
- Employers must handle mental health-related claims appropriately
For employers, this means increased responsibility to stay informed and compliant with evolving regulations.

- 2026 training wage of $9.31 per hour for employees under the age of 20 during the first 90 days of employment
- Rest breaks of at least 15 minutes are required within every four hours of consecutive work
- A meal period of at least 30 minutes is required after six consecutive hours of work
The newest version of the Minimum Wage poster was updated in March 2026.
