In July 2020, the Illinois Department of Labor published the Victims’ Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA) notice.

- Act expanded victim protections to include gender violence.
- Employees who are victims of gender violence may take unpaid, job protected leaves of absence.
Also in July 2020, the Illinois Department of Labor published an updated Day and Temporary Labor Service Agencies Act.

Illinois Labor Law Poster Update
All businesses within the State of Illinois must post the Victims’ Economic Security and Safety Act and Day and Temporary Labor Service Agencies Act posters along with other state-mandated posting requirements where it is sufficiently accessible and viewable to all employees. This change has been reflected in our Illinois & Federal Labor Law Poster and does require an immediate mandatory update.
