The Wage Theft Protection Actrequires California employers to provide written detailed information to new employees at the time of hire. This form will clearly state the employee's rate of pay, designated paydays and allowances, as well as information specifying the employer's worker's compensation carrier.
The Wage Theft Protection Act took effect January 1, 2012. It is highly recommended that employers in California take steps to ensure compliance with all aspects of this Act as stated in Section 2810.5 under California’s Labor Code.
