Labor Law Poster Alert: Vermont Increases Minimum Wage & Updates Family Leave Poster for 2026

December 19, 2025

Vermont employers have important compliance updates to prepare for in 2026, including a minimum wage increase and updated family and parental leave posting requirements.

Vermont Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2026

Beginning January 1, 2026, the Vermont minimum wage will increase, reflecting the state’s annual cost-of-living adjustment:

Employers are responsible for tracking wages and tips. If an employee’s tips do not bring them up to the full minimum wage, the employer must make up the difference.

Vermont law requires employers to post the revised “Vermont Minimum Wage Notice” in a location where employees can easily view it.

Updated Vermont Parental & Family Leave Poster Requirements

In addition to wage changes, Vermont’s Parental and Family Leave Act (PFLA) underwent revisions effective July 1, 2025, expanding unpaid job-protected leave and requiring an updated workplace notice.

The revised Family & Parental Leave poster clarifies:

Employers must ensure the revised poster is displayed alongside the minimum wage poster in a conspicuous location where employees can easily view it.
