Effective employee counseling is a key tool to any company wanting to retain valuable employees and/or to keep an employee's performance and moral consistent. The Employee Counseling Report serves as great tool in communicating, documenting, and reviewing an employee's performance. It's great documentation for an employer or employee to have on record. It can also be used in lieu of a written warning notice should a violation occur that is not that serious but should be addressed to the employee and documented.
The Employee Counseling form can document an employee's discussion and can also be used to discourage further actions from an employee that may lead to a company violation or to re-iterate your company's policy. Space is provided for improvement goals, a target date, and any consequences. When both the employee and employer sign the form, there is a written record of their agreement.
