What is the Federal Contractor Poster?

Many companies dream of the day when they finally secure a federal contract. While this is a big accomplishment, it will bring many changes to your business.

Upon landing a federal contract, it’s critical to learn more about the many compliance requirements that come into play. With laws mandated by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) there is no room for error.

At this time, U.S. regulations require that all federal contractors display 11 labor law posters. While some of these are the same for every employer – federal contractor or not – others are unique to these companies.

Here is a list of the nine posters to be displayed in a conspicuous place for both employees and candidates to see:

  • Federal Contractor Minimum Wage
  • Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision
  • Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors
  • The Employee Rights Under The National Relations Act
  • The Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law Notice – Includes GINA Notice
  • OSHA’s Employee Whistle-Blower Rights Notice
  • Walsh-Healey Public Contracts Act
  • E-verify Notice – English and Spanish
  • You Have The Right To Work – English and Spanish

The federal contractor poster is changing slightly in 2019, thanks to the Department of Labor’s decision to update the minimum wage requirement for workers performing tasks in connection with federal contracts.

Starting on January 1, 2019, federal contractors are required to pay covered workers a minimum of $10.60/hour. Additionally, tipped employees working in connection with a federal contract must be paid a minimum wage of $7.40/hour.

What’s the Best Solution?

At this point, you may be wondering where you’ll find the space to conspicuously display 11 posters. Fortunately, you don’t have to do this. There’s a better way.

At Labor Law Center, we have a simple solution: display the Federal Contractor poster side-by-side with an all-in-one state, federal and OSHA labor law poster.

By doing this, you’ll meet all the labor law poster requirements of a federal contractor.
