The new law aims to make it convenient for veterans to find information on available resources by requiring employers to display a workplace poster with veterans’ benefits and services provided in the state.
New Michigan Veterans’ Resources Poster
Effective April 2, 2025, all Michigan businesses that employ one or more full-time employees must display a new labor law poster in a conspicuous area in the workplace accessible to employees. The poster must include information related to all of the following services that are available to veterans:
- Mental health and substance abuse services
- Education, workforce, or job training resources
- Tax benefits
- How to obtain a veteran designation on a state driver’s license or personal identification card
- Eligibility for unemployment benefits
- Legal services
- Phone number and website for the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
- Phone number and website for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- Phone number for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs crisis line
