The Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act (Act No. 815) was put into place on January 1, 2007 in order to prohibit smoking not only in many public places, but also in the workplace. As an employer, if you have an AR license or an AG6 license, your workplace must be smoke-free.

To ensure that your employees do not smoke in the workplace, it is important to educate them about the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act and how it impacts them. By posting the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act poster in a clearly visible area of the workplace, you will be able to inform your employees of the laws that impact them on a daily basis. If they violate the regulation, then you will be able to discipline them accordingly, but only after you have ensured that you have taken steps to inform them of the laws pertaining to the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act.
