Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Wisconsin minimum wage is $6.50 per hour ($2.33
for tipped employees) and requires overtime after 40
hours. Minors may be paid $5.90 per hour. Agricultural
employees may be paid $5.15 per hour, or $4.25 per hour
if under the age of 18. Workers who are 16 or 17 years
old are entitled to overtime after working 10 hours
per day. The Wisconsin Equal Rights Division enforces
the state law prohibiting discrimination based on age,
ancestry, arrest or conviction record, color, religion,
disability, genetic testing, polygraph results, marital
status, military service, pregnancy, race, sex, sexual
orientation.*
