Washington ( WA ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

The 2008 Washington state minimum wage is the highest in the nation at $8.07 per hour. Employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours, and tipped employees must be paid the full minimum wage. Employees are entitled to a 10-minute paid break near the midpoint of any 4 hour work segment and a 30-minute unpaid meal break on any shift of 5 consecutive hours. The 2008 workers’ comp insurance premium paid by Washington employers is 3.2% higher than last year.*
