Effective January 1, 2013 the Arizona minimum wage is $7.80 per hour. Employees who earn at least $120 per month in tips can be paid $4.35 per hour. Under the new Arizona Medical Marijuana law passed in the 2010 mid-term elections, the Arizona Department of Health Services will issue photo I.D. cards to employees who are approved to use medical marijuana. A recent state law gives members of the military reserves the same protections as members of the National Guard to time off for training, drills and active duty without loss of vacation or seniority. Employers who violate this law may be fined $500 and sentenced to 30 days in jail.*
