Can Use E-verify To Comply With
Verification Mandate

Effective July 1, 2009, employers with 100 or more employees must comply
with South Carolina’s employment verification requirement. The E-verify method
is one of the recommended system to use to verify employment. The usage
of the E-verify system mandates two mandatory posters.

E-verify is an internet based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security that allows employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their newly hired employees. Some states such as South Carolina mandate the verification and to comply they can use the e-verify system as a method. In some states, it can be used on a voluntary basis. If a company decides to use E-verify, two posters are mandated to be posted.
