| Description The Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, or USERRA, requires every employer to extend certain rights to members of the active military service. This law has been expanded to include members of the National Guard and Reserve, and emergency workers such as firefighters and EMTs. Employers who do not promptly inform affected employees of their rights under USERRA are subject to fines and penalties.
