Description Under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994, employers must grant mandatory leave to workers who are entering active military service for up to 5 years. The law also applies to members of the reserve or National Guard, and to emergency workers such as paramedics and firefighters. By law, the employer must inform an employee of his/her rights under the USERRA in writing. This packet includes all the information that the employer is required – by law – to provide to each employee who qualifies under USERRA.
