Maine ( ME ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

The Maine minimum wage is $7.00 per hour ($3.50 for tipped employees), and employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours. The Maine family leave law grants up to 10 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave every two years and applies to employers with 15 or more employees. Most employers must give workers an unpaid break of 30 minutes after 6 hours of work. The Maine Human Rights Commission enforces the state’s anti-discrimination laws, including a new regulation that prohibits discriminate based on sexual orientation.*
