Kentucky ( KY ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

Effective July 1, 2008 the Kentucky minimum wage is $6.55 per hour. According to the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, under state law, employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours, and on the seventh consecutive day of work. Employers cannot legally make deductions to an employee’s wages for lost, damaged or stolen property. Kentucky employers must provide a 10-minute paid break for each 4 hours worked. Workers must receive one unpaid meal break per shift, between the third and fifth hour. The Kentucky Child Labor Laws require that employers keep proof of age on file for all workers under 18.*
