SKU: FED270 The USERRA protects the civilian jobs of employees in military service regardless of the timing, frequency, duration or nature of the service, as long as basic eligibility standards are met. This includes members of the active military, the National Guard, and the reserve that volunteer for or are called into service. First responders such as firefighters and paramedics are also covered in times of national emergency. The Department of Labor, through the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service or VETS, enforces the USERRA, including the requirement that every employer display a USERRA poster. The USERRA poster satisfies the requirement that employers must notifiy their employees of their rights under USERRA. Employees and employers alike will refer to the poster for important details regarding the length of service, reporting requirements and the time frame that each employee has to return to work.
