Delaware ( DE ) Labor Law Quick Facts: Effective July 24, 2009 many employees are entitled to the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, while the Delaware minimum wage remains at $7.15 per hour. On July 2, 2009 it became illegal for a Delaware employer to discriminate based on sexual orientation, specifically meaning “heterosexuality, homosexuality or bisexuality.” The Delaware mini-COBRA law requires employers with fewer than 20 workers to continue group insurance benefits to many employees who have been terminated.
