Colorado ( CO ) Labor Law Quick Facts: A new Colorado law prohibits employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. Employers are also required to provide workers’ compensation coverage for all on-site construction workers, even if they are classified as independent contractors. The Colorado minimum wage is $7.28 per hour, $4.26 per hour for tipped employees. It is increased due to the cost of living each year in January. Public and private employers are required to retain copies of an employee’s identity documents and make an affirmation that the employee can legally work in the US.
