Oregon ( OR ) Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Oregon Smokefree Workplace law goes into effect on January 1, 2009, prohibiting smoking in public places and almost all workplaces. Effective January 1, 2009 the Oregon minimum wage increases from $7.95 per hour to $8.40 per hour. The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries adjusts the state minimum wage annually for inflation. Tipped employees are entitled to the full minimum wage. The Oregon Family Leave Act or OFLA permits pregnant employees to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid pregnancy leave in addition to up to 12 weeks for another qualifying reason.*
