Oklahoma ( OK ) Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Oklahoma minimum wage increases from $6.55 to $7.25 on July 24,
2009. This change reflects the last of 3 increases in the federal minimum
wage. Free, confidential, non-punitive, voluntary safety and health
consultation services are provided by Safety Pays, a state agency, to
help private employers reduce workers’ comp costs. Oklahoma law excludes
a number of employees from the state minimum wage including domestic
and agricultural employees, workers under the age of 22 and part-time
employees in temporary jobs. State law permits employers with less than
$100,000 in revenue to pay just $2.00 per hour. The state has no law
requiring employers to give meal periods or rest breaks to adult employees.*
