Product Description


The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act ( COBRA ), contains provisions giving certain former employees, retirees, spouse's former spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates when coverage is lost due to certain specific events. Employers with 20 or more employees are usually required to offer COBRA coverage and to notify their employees of the availability of such coverage. COBRA applies to plans maintained by private-sector employers and sponsored by most state and local governments.

Under The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), "Assistance Eligible Individuals" may have the right to reduced COBRA premiums for certain periods of coverage that can last up to 9 months.
