New York ( NY ) Labor Law Quick Facts:
The New York Blood Donation law requires employers to hold two annual workplace blood drives, or to give workers up to 3 hours of unpaid leave each year to donate blood. Employers must accommodate mothers who are breastfeeding infants under the New York Nursing Mothers in the Workplace Act. Beginning February 1, 2009, every employer must display a poster of the New York Corrections law related to convictions. The New York minimum wage is $7.15 per hour with overtime after 40 hours. The New York minimum wage for tipped food service workers is $4.60 per hour, while the minimum wage for other tipped workers is $5.40 per hour.*
