According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Wage Regulation Act, it is unlawful for any employer to employ, permit to work, or offer work to any person without first informing the employee of the amount of wages to be paid. Additionally, employers should establish and maintain a regular payday, which is posted in at least two places throughout the workplace.

Employers in the state of Tennessee are required by State law to post the Tennessee Payday Notice in two prominent places where employees can have access to the information on the poster at their leisure as they go to and from work.
