Alaska ( AK ) Labor Law Quick Facts:
Alaska’s state minimum wage is one of the nation’s highest, at $7.15 per hour. In addition, Alaska state law requires that school bus drivers be paid at least twice the state minimum wage, or $14.30 per hour. There is no state family leave law; instead, employees in Alaska are entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave under the Federal FMLA. A 2007 Alaska state law prohibits employees under the age of 19 from selling cigarettes.*
