Nevada ( NV ) Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Nevada minimum wage increased to $7.55 per hour on July 1, 2009. Tipped employees must be paid the full state minimum wage. However, under special provision of the law, employers who offer a qualified group health insurance plan can pay workers $6.55 per hour. Overtime must be paid at a rate of at least $11.325 per hour (or $9.825 per hour with health care benefits.) Nevada employees are entitled to the overtime minimum rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employees earning more than the overtime minimum are entitled to time-and-one-half after 40 hours under federal (not state) law.*
