Nevada ( NV ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

Effective July 1, 2008 the Nevada minimum wage is $6.85 per hour. Employees must be paid an overtime rate of at least $10.275 per hour after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. A unique provision of the Nevada minimum wage and overtime law permits employers who offer a qualified health insurance plan to pay $5.85 per hour, $8.775 for overtime after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Tipped employees must be paid the full minimum wage, according to the Nevada Department of Business and Industry. Most higher-paid workers are entitled to overtime after 40 hours under federal, not state, law.*
