Connor's Law, effective January 1, 2011, requires group health insurance policies to cover recognized treatments for Autism that are prescribed by a doctor. The state marriage law means that civil unions involving same-sex couples will automatically become marriages on January 1, 2011. Each employer must provide benefits for these "newly married" couples on the same basis as other married couples. The state whistleblower law was recently expanded to include any employee who refuses to participate in an activity that he or she believes may be illegal.
