Ohio ( OH ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

Effective July 24, 2008 the Ohio state minimum wage for employers with less than $255,000 in revenue is $6.55 per hour. Workers who are 14 or 15 years old may also be paid the federal minimum wage of $6.55 per hour. According to the Ohio Department of Commerce, the 2008 state minimum wage of $7.00 per hour, or $3.50 for tipped employees, applies to all employers with revenue of $255,000 or more. Employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours, but employers with annual revenue less than $150,000 per year are exempt from the Ohio state overtime law. Special overtime provisions apply to hospitals and nursing homes.*
