The New Jersey minimum wage is $7.15 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours. The New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA) requires employers to provide 12 weeks of unpaid leave in a 24-month period to care for a seriously ill family member, including a mother- or father-in-law or stepparent. The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD) is one of the strictest in the nation and covers sexual orientation, family and marital status, genetic information, HIV status, heredity or blood traits, disability and military service.*
