Labor Law Quick Facts: The New Mexico minimum wage for 2008 is $6.50 per hour, but effective July 24, 2008 many employees are entitled to the federal minimum wage of $6.55 per hour. For tipped employees, the minimum wage is $2.13 per hour. Employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours under state law. The New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau (NMOHSB) regulates worker safety.
