Military Leave Notice
On January 28th, 2008 the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year
2008 was passed and went into effect were amendments to the Family and Medical
Leave Act of 1993. The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 now permits a spouse,
son, daughter, parent, or next of kin to take up to 26 workweeks of leave to
care for a member of the Armed Forces, including a member of the National Guard
or Reserves, who is undergoing medical treatment, recuperation, or therapy,
is otherwise in outpatient status, or is otherwise on the temporary disability
retired list, for a serious injury or illness.
A new notice titled, Military Leave Notice was issued as an optional posting for employers to display for their employees to know their rights until the Federal government releases its final FMLA poster. For your convenience, The Military Leave Notice is also on
