Colorado ( CO ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

The Colorado state minimum wage is $7.02 per hour, $4.00 per hour for tipped workers. Employees must be paid overtime after 12 hours per day, or 40 hours per week. Under Statute 8-2-122, the Colorado employment verification law, employers are required to retain a written or electronic copy of an employee’s I-9 supporting documents for employment eligibility purposes. In addition, the employer must make an affirmation of the employee’s eligibility to work within 20 days, and keep it on file. A separate Colorado employment verification law covers companies which hold public contracts.*
