Arkansas ( AR ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

The Arkansas minimum wage is $6.25 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours. The Arkansas minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.62 per hour. Employers cannot charge employees for required drug screens or medical tests. Employers cannot require that an employee be paid by direct deposit, if the employee requests another form of payment in writing. Arkansas has no law requiring meal or rest breaks for employees. Arkansas is an "employment at will" state, which permits employers to terminate a worker at any time, for any reason or for no reason, but prohibits illegal discrimination.*
