Labor Law Quick Facts:

The 2008 Vermont minimum wage is $7.68 per hour. The minimum wage for tipped employees in hotels, motels, tourist places & restaurants is $3.72 per hour. Tipped workers in other businesses must be paid at least $6.25 per hour. State law requires that employees be paid overtime after 40 hours. Vermont law requires “short-time family leave” of 4 hours per month, not to exceed 24 hours per year, for parents to attend to a child’s medical emergency, or for a child’s doctor or dentist appointment, or school activities.*

Vermont No Smoking Poster All businesses in the state of Vermont should post the state specific No Smoking Notice at the entrance and exit areas of the building along with other areas of the building where smoking is prohibited.
