Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Utah minimum wage is $5.85 per hour or $2.13 per
hour for tipped employees. Most workers are entitled
to overtime after 40 hours under federal, not state,
law. Employees under 18 may be paid $4.25 per hour for
the first 90 days of employment. Employees under 16
are not permitted to work more than 4 hours on school
days. The Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division
enforces state laws against discrimination based on
age, color, race, religion, gender, disability, pregnancy,
and national origin.*
