Labor Law Quick Facts:

The Ohio minimum wage for 2008 is $7.00 per hour, or $3.50 for tipped employees. Employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours, but employers with annual revenue less than $150,000 per year are exempt from the state overtime law. Special overtime provisions apply to hospitals and nursing homes. Workers between the ages of 14 and 17 must have a valid work permit. Most employees are entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid leave under the federal FMLA, or Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, rather than any state law.*
